Hidden Cam Detector · Last updated: April 2026
Bottom line: All network scanning happens on your device. We don't have servers that receive your scan results. We don't know what's on your WiFi.
1. Information We Collect
Hidden Cam Detector may collect:
- Usage data: Features used, session duration, app version
- Device info: Device model, iOS version (anonymous)
- Purchase data: Subscription status (managed by Apple/RevenueCat)
We do not collect: names, emails, phone numbers, location, photos, contacts, or any personally identifiable information.
2. Network Scanning — Local Only
The app scans your local WiFi network to identify connected devices and detect cameras. All scanning is performed locally on your device. Specifically:
- IP addresses, hostnames, and detected services never leave your phone
- No scan results are uploaded to our servers (we don't have any)
- No telemetry includes network topology or device lists
- Local Network access is requested via iOS standard prompt; you can deny or revoke it at any time in Settings
3. Third-Party Services
No analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude). No advertising SDKs.
4. Data Retention
Anonymous usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for app improvement. All scan data stays on your device only and is never retained on our side because we never receive it.
5. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Revoke Local Network access in iOS Settings > Hidden Cam Detector
- Delete the app to remove all local data immediately
- Contact us for any data-related questions
7. Changes
